Epidemiology:
  • Prevalence: intraprocedural rate: 19% (1).
  • Risk factors: coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia and lower initial Hunt and Hess Grade (1).
  • Morbidity/Mortality: 31% with intraprocedural rupture had periprocedural death or disability compared to 18% without intraprocedural rupture (P<.0.001) (1).
